Transits During Libra

Fall in a parkThe Sun enters the sign of Libra on September 22 at 1:44 p.m., Pacific Daylight Time. There is a celebration each time that the Sun enters Libra, because it marks the Fall Equinox. In six months from now, when the Sun enters Aries, the Spring Equinox happens. These are the two times of the year that the length of the days and nights are approximately equal. The name “Equinox” means aequus (equal) and nox (night) in Latin. In the northern hemisphere, we will see the Sun rising later and setting earlier with the fall chill is in the air, as we welcome a new season.

Another special event this month is the Full Moon on October 18th, which will be an eclipse. But don’t get too excited, because this one is a weak penumbral eclipse that will be difficult to see, if at all. I’ll be skipping my regular eclipse party for this one. Since the Sun in transiting through the sign of Libra, the Full Moon is always in the opposite sign, which will be an Aries eclipse. The Aries Full Moon is typically very high energy and exciting, but an eclipse will dim the light as well as the energy. So you probably won’t be up for that skydiving trip, like you thought.

Towards the end of the Libra month, on October 21st, Mercury turns retrograde in the sign of Scorpio and won’t turn direct until November 11th. Mercury will pass by Saturn on its retrograde journey, so you will be in the mood to clear out old paperwork or financial files. On October 5th and 6th, there will be four planets, plus the North Node, in the sign of Scorpio. So there will be quite a long time with several planets in Scorpio, even before the Sun gets there. I’ll write more on that in the Scorpio Newsletter.

Two planets, Venus and Mars, will be changing signs during this Libra month. Venus has been in sultry Scorpio since September 11th and will enter Sagittarius on October 7th, where she will remain until November 5th. The sign of Sag loves to travel, so see if you can take a holiday during those dates that includes some luxury. To balance out Venus, the planet Mars will leave Leo and enter the sign of Virgo on October 15th, where he will remain all the way until December 8th. Mars is the planet of action and Virgo loves to complete jobs, so plan for a detailed project during that time. You will be in the mood to organize or work on something, so set it up now. Personally, I’ll be writing my next book, Susie’s Love Signs.
