The Sun enters the sign of Virgo on August 22nd at 7:58 a.m., Mountain Time. Virgo is an earth sign and is associated with the planet Mercury. Virgo is the perfectionist of the Zodiac and is an expert at attention to detail. A typical Virgo career includes being an accountant, hygienist, mathematician, carpenter and computer analyst. Their style is accurate, clean, disciplined, efficient and helpful. Virgo is the sign of service, so if you need someone to help you move or organize things, please ask a Virgo friend.
We’re entering the Eclipse season for a Partial Lunar Eclipse on September 17th. It will be seen in Tucson and most of the US. This one is not as dramatic as a total Lunar Eclipse, but the Moon will turn reddish. Total or not, we can still use this time to release the old. The Eclipsed Moon is in Pisces and is right in between Saturn and Neptune. This will be a particularly inward and contemplative Full Moon. Not good for a big, wild party. Maybe have a Full Moon meditation instead or a raucous party. Then on October 2nd will be an Annular Solar Eclipse, which will only be visible in the South Pacific and South Africa.
This month also opens with Mercury retrograde until August 28th. Virgo is a perfect time for Mercury retrograde, so you can close out the summer in preparation for the fall season. Let go of anything that you no longer need, whether it’s physical or emotional. Virgo will be incredibly happy.
Mars is still fairly close to Jupiter in Gemini, which is stirring everyone up mentally. Agitation and anxiety are what many are feeling now. This last month has challenged us all mentally with overly excitable Mars and Jupiter. Heated discussions are common now. Try to focus your mind on a project so you can feel accomplished instead of spinning around in circles.
The other important planetary event occurring is Pluto retrograding back into Capricorn on September 2nd and not turning direct until October 12th. This is the very last time that Pluto will be in Capricorn for 248 years. This was the phase of hierarchy and control that started when Pluto entered Capricorn in 2008. We are likely going to see the last gasp of authoritarianism during this time. Pluto will enter Aquarius on November 20th and will remain in Aquarius until 2044! Will this transition be a turbulent time? Absolutely. It is up to us to stay as calm as possible in the middle of this change.
Regarding the visible planets, we can see Mars, Jupiter and Saturn in the eastern predawn sky. Venus is now the “evening star” above the western horizon after sunset.
See you next in Libra.
