The summer of 2026 has very unusual planetary alignments, and I’ve named this one The Almost Grand Sextile. A sextile occurs when two planets are 60 degrees apart from each other. It’s a good angle that brings opportunity and positive connections. This is not an aspect that I regularly use, as I like my astrology clean and clear. But this is so rare and wild that I had to write about it. Why is it wild? Because all the outer planets are at 4 degrees and are all connecting geometrically with each other via sextiles. My research has shown that this exact configuration has never happened quite like this before. It is a unique occurrence.
The reason I’m not calling it The Grand Sextile is that there would have to be six planets involved and this one only has five. The Moon moves through so quickly that it won’t have a big part to play in the pattern.
I’m including two unusual charts calculated for July 19, 2026. I’ve taken out all the planets not involved in this Almost Grand Sextile. One chart has only sextiles in green. The other one has all the aspects I use that show oppositions, along with the grand trine in air signs. Even though this configuration will last a while, I chose July 19th because the Moon chimed in to join this huge group hug.
Elementally, it’s important to note that the outer planets, which will soon include the moon’s nodes, will all be in fire and air signs. That will not only give us extra mental and physical energy, but will also make everyone much more outspoken. Big decisions are going to be made by everyone.
The stable element of earth and the emotional element of water are finished now. All the outer planets, including the moon’s nodes, will now be in fire and air. Instead of being stuck in the mud, we can now go forward with speed and conviction.
It is incredibly significant that the planets are all at 4 degrees, which is early in each sign and signifies birth energy. They are infants, or maybe toddlers, in their new sign personalities, and together they are at a cutting-edge threshold for humanity. This will create:
- New governments
- New economies
- New identities
- New technologies
- New spiritual structures
I’ve written about all the ingresses of these outer planets during the last several months, but let’s refresh ourselves with the planets involved and then put them together.
Pluto, who is the slowest planet in the solar system, has a 248-year orbit. Any astrology book describes Pluto as the planet of death and rebirth. Since he is the slowest of them all, Pluto is the engine that transforms civilizations. He dismantles old power structures and forces the reinvention of a new society. Being in the sign of radical Aquarius, the sign of networks, technology and the collective, Pluto is rewiring humanity on the deepest level.
This is indeed the very beginning of the Aquarian Age.
Neptune has just entered the fiery sign of Aries. Neptune’s orbit is 165 years and is connected with spirituality, healing, intuition, creativity and dreams. Neptune is the visionary of all the planets. Neptune in Aries will inspire us to take our beliefs in a new direction in order to feel more empowered in our collective soul’s mission. Energy and quantum healing will emerge as prominent modalities.
Uranus has just entered brainy Gemini. The orbit of Uranus is 84 years, and he is all about sudden change, radical ideas, new forms of education, innovation and revolution. Of course, Artificial Intelligence is the essence of Uranus in Gemini. New ways of thinking and communicating with each other will be the norm.
Now let’s top it off with Jupiter entering confident Leo. Jupiter is the fastest of all these slower-moving planets with an orbit of only 12 years. This is the planet connected with belief systems, leadership, expansion and success. Jupiter will act as the catalyst, or magnifier, and will amplify everything the other outer planets are doing.
Now let’s interpret how the planets will collaborate with each other.
Pluto in Aquarius is sextile to Neptune in Aries. Pluto will dismantle institutions in governments, monopolies and hierarchies across the board. Pluto, representing society, is reinventing itself with a new Neptune perspective. Who am I? Who are we all together? Introspection and the resulting realizations will lead to major changes in the structure of society. We are being collectively reborn.
Moving from passive belief systems to creating reality in the quantum field.
Neptune in Aries is sextile to Uranus in Gemini. Fueled by Neptune’s new awareness, Uranus will usher in a new era of communication, education, ideals, media and telepathic technologies. AI-human neuron integration will be common. Spirituality and science will join.
Conscious downloads and radical new language creates sudden awakenings.
Uranus in Gemini is sextile to Jupiter in Leo. Uranus is the main thrust of this combo, only to be nudged by insistent Jupiter. The doors will be opened suddenly for the brilliance of Uranus in Gemini. This will bring sudden discoveries and inventions that will transform the world. Expect new media systems, decentralized education and dazzling creativity. Personal broadcasting almost replaces traditional networks.
Everyone will have a voice.
Not that the Almost Grand Sextile needs it, but there is a huge trigger at the peak of this planetary pattern. Jupiter opposes Pluto on July 20th and will be the catalyst for the configuration. Pluto is all about control, and Jupiter in Leo is uncontrollable. All the planets will feel it, as if someone plugged them into an electric socket and they’re all of the sudden hot and alive.
Individual Sovereignty versus controlling systems is the theme.
I don’t usually point out an exact day or birthday, but I have to for this Almost Grand Sextile. The date that would complete this pattern is November 27th, of any year. Any Sagittarians born on that day are particularly lucky. Also, check to see where four degrees Sagittarius falls in your chart.
In summary, this big hug is a very positive alignment and is a breath of fresh air to the world. Even though this alignment is happening now, it’s more like The Almost Grand Sextile is igniting the world and introducing a new era in history. This is not the final form, but instead, it is a first glimpse of what the next decades will become. See it as a blueprint of the new world. It’s a karmic reset and reboot.
This is a window in time – a rare moment when the planets are not fighting each other and are actually communicating in a new way. This alignment is not about a single event, but rather, it’s about the beginning of humanity’s next storyline.
