When slow planets enter new signs of the Zodiac, a shift occurs in each of us, as well as in the entire world. We are experiencing one of those times now. I recently wrote about Neptune entering Aries, and this month we’re looking at what it will mean for Saturn to be there too. Neptune’s orbit is 165 years, and Saturn’s is 29 years. So, it is an incredibly rare event for them to hold hands and walk into zero degrees Aries together at the very same time. Everything is about to change.
Saturn entered Aries on May 24, 2025, and will remain there until April 15, 2028. Saturn will retrograde back into Pisces from September 1, 2025 – February 13, 2026, before he reenters Aries.
Saturn is associated with the sign Capricorn and is the realist of all the planets, so I’ve named Saturn “Mr. Responsibility.” It is the planet of discipline, structure, boundaries, time, rules and regulations. He is the taskmaster of the Zodiac. His job is to push through obstacles with maturity and perseverance in order to achieve long-term goals. The challenging side of Saturn can be rigid, restricting and demanding. After all, he is the executive of the Zodiac.
Let’s look at Aries first and then put this unlikely pair together. Aries is the first sign of the Zodiac and always marks the first day of Spring. Zero degrees Aries is basically, astronomically as well as astrologically, the beginning of everything. It is arguably the most important degree of the entire Zodiac. It symbolizes new beginnings and fresh starts.
Aries is a fire sign and is characterized by a bold, assertive, pioneering and independent spirit with a strong drive. Aries individuals are known for their enthusiasm, bravery and need to be in charge. Aries is associated with Mars, the warrior. This sign can also be impulsive, brash and loud. Yes, both Aries and Mars have a temper.
So, what happens when a disciplinarian joins a warrior? Well, it could be both good and bad, folks. Let’s look at the good first. When Saturn transits through Aries, it will add a needed level of restraint to the impulsive tendencies of Aries and will encourage more deliberate and planned actions. This will be a time to take personal responsibility and focus on important objectives. Saturn will bring a grounded sense of reality and practicality.
The bravery of Aries and the tenacity of Saturn will be successful in overcoming obstacles and challenges. This combination is fantastic at problem-solving. People will want to confront problems head on rather than avoid them. This will open up a much-needed phase of new leadership with a mature, stable and common sense style.
What are the more challenging lessons for Saturn in fiery Aries? We will need to manage being impulsive. Aries is naturally spontaneous, but Saturn demands structure and planning. It can prove difficult to find a balance between moving too fast and feeling the need to stop. How do we keep ourselves from getting overwhelmed? And how are we going to manage conflict? Will Aries yell, or will Saturn try to compromise? Maybe a bit of both.
On an individual level, this combination is a powerful catalyst for personal growth and transformation. It will push us to develop a keen sense of self awareness and a desire to build a solid future. Endurance and stamina are talents of Saturn that will be strengthened by powerful Aries. This is a perfect time to learn new skills to enhance your career. Growth during a Saturn in Aries time is not fleeting and can set the stage for lasting progress in the future. We will want to stand up and take accountability for our actions.
I’ll write an article that combines Neptune and Saturn entering Aries after their retrograde in Pisces. That won’t happen until March 2026, so we have one year to watch their dance before they are completely in Aries.
In summary, this transit of Saturn in Aries will be felt by all zodiac signs. It is a time to harness the dynamic energy of Aries, while balancing it with Saturn’s call for calm and structure. This period invites us to boldly move forward to overcome obstacles with integrity and purpose. Yes, this is a profound era we are just now entering. Make the most of it!
